TCS NQT (Digital Role) Interview Experience

Registration & Exam

I registered for the TCS NQT examination under the Priority Institution category. About one month after registration, the exam was conducted at a TCS iON center.

Preparation Strategy

I prepared primarily through YouTube lectures and practiced extensively by solving the previous five years’ question papers. This helped me understand the pattern and difficulty level of the exam.

Exam Pattern

The exam consisted of two sections:

• Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude (Ninja Role)
• Advanced Reasoning and Coding (Digital or Prime Role)

I was able to attempt most of the questions and successfully solved one and a half coding problems.

Result Announcement

After approximately three weeks, the results were declared, and I was shortlisted for the Digital Role.

Interview Process

The interview was scheduled two weeks after the result announcement. The panel consisted of three members:

• One HR/Managerial representative
• Two Technical members

• Difference between DELETE and TRUNCATE
• Self Join vs Inner Join
• Intersection vs Inner Join
• ACID properties

Data Structures & Algorithms

• Discussion on sorting algorithms
• Asked to write any sorting algorithm
• Question on the best sorting algorithm and its efficiency

Project-Based Questions

• Write an API for login and signup
• How to secure authentication APIs
• Write middleware code
• Create a login form
• Deployment-related questions
• How to check if a website is ready for deployment
• What is a "dist" folder

AI & ML Concepts

• Supervised vs Unsupervised learning
• How to evaluate model efficiency

---

Final Verdict

After 15–20 days, the final results were announced, and I was officially shortlisted for the TCS Digital Role.
